Dr Tarlia Govender graduated cum laude from the University of Kwazulu-Natal in 2013.
She has worked in various levels of public sector hospitals in Kwazulu-Natal and in Gauteng and has in excess of ten years experience.
She holds a masters’ degree in global surgery from the University of the Witwatersrand. Her work recently won her the Emerging researcher award from Surgeons for Little Lives, a non-profit organization dedicated to uplifting the care of children.
Dr Govender qualified as a paediatric surgeon in 2024 and is working at Mediclinic Sandton and Nelson Mandela Children’s Hospital.
