The ambulance arrived as quickly as possible, but the paramedics were unable to remove the piece of steel lodged in Badisa. He was then rushed to Chris Hani Baragwanath Academic Hospital, where he underwent surgery to have it removed.
His mother, Faith Moloi, is pleased with his recovery, stating that Badisa is healing well and will be back at school soon.
“Everyone treated us so well, including all the doctors and nurses who cared for us. Our check-up was also a success, as the doctors are very happy with his healing progress.
